Good Vibes

Hello my fellow friends,

It's all about that positive energy! If you don't feel it then you need to get with it. Eat, sleep, breathe positivity. Just start off with a smile, exude happiness, and others will take notice of your good vibes.

It's so easy to complain about the simplest things, but look around you. Life is beautiful, it is so precious, and we shouldn't take it for granted. Think about the ones who are less fortunate than you are, or the ones who are unable to live the life of a normal active being. Sometimes, you see these people who carry the biggest smile on their faces, who have big hearts, and are simply...happy. This goes to show that it is important to value life and recognize positivity. The biggest change you can make on yourself is to let go of negative energy. Start doing this by surrounding yourself with loving, genuine, and supportive people. Get rid of the debbie-downers. Once you do this you will notice a BIG development. I know we are all afraid of change, but change is a part of life. Out with the old, and in with the new!  Make new friends, surround yourself with family, and focus on yourself. The relationship with yourself is the most important. Therefore, get your priorities straight because you are your number 1 priority.

Remember, the energy you give, is the energy you will receive. We believe that as human beings it is meaningful to help others. You can do this by completing a deed a day. Note, you should not feel obligated to do anything for anyone, it should come from the kindness of your heart. This doesn't have to be a grand gesture. There are effortless things to do, such as holding the door for somebody, smiling at someone who passes you by, saying please and thank you, giving compliments, forgiving,  respecting others and just offering a helping hand. In return, you will get positive feedback. Not only will it make other people feel good, you'll feel good as well.

Take action right away, you won't regret it. Good vibes is everything. With it, your perspective on life will not be the same. You'll wake up feeling good about your day and go to sleep looking forward to tomorrow.

Peace Love & Happiness

Talky Tuesdays: Too young for THAT

Hey lovelies,

Is it just us or is everyone nowadays getting pregnant, getting engaged, getting married, getting divorced or having twins? WTF! Is this the new trend? We didn't get the memo. By everyone, we mean people in our age group or younger. This ranges between the ages of 16-21. First of all, don't be silly, wrap your willy, and have you girls not heard about birth control! Sorry to be blunt but it's something that has definitely caught our attention. You're only young once, these are the best years of your life. Don't get us wrong, having a baby and getting married is a beautiful thing and we hope to one day fulfill those life experiences, but there is a time and place for everything.

We've noticed those who are full time college students, are working, and involved in several activities don't get the full praise on their efforts. We don't get enough credit, yet those who get prego and drop out of school are the ones being congratulated. "OMG, congrats I'm so happy for you." "I'm proud of you." "Look at that belly, how cute!" We can't stress this enough, if you're fortunate and have support from your families take advantage of this. There is no excuse why you shouldn't be working, going back to school and actually making something of your life. The most responsibility you should have at this age is taking care of yourself, which is not always the case because some people still receive support from their parents. At this age, you want to put yourself on a throne. Do things that make you happy, accomplish goals and just live your life for you!

That being said, cheers to being young and carefree!

Chongalicious?

How ridiculous do we look?

Chongalicious - what you thought was cute but now realize big hoops, shoe laces as head bands, pasted bangs, see-through leggings, North faces with Timbs and Jordan's/chinese slippers just don't go together

This goes out to all my chongas out there,

Sorry but chonga days are behind us, I know it's hard for some of you to let go of your inner chonga but sweetie it is time to reinvent yourself.

How to step out of your chonga shell 101

  1. Get a new wardrobe
  2. Get your hair did
  3. Get your nails did
  4. Get your eyebrows did *this is important ladies
  5. The less bling the better. Remember girl, as the artistic Coco Chanel once said "When accessorizing always take off the last thing you put on."
  6. Invest in some normal shoes
  7. Just STOP IT with the see-through leggings
  8. Try a more natural everyday makeup look (no blue eyeshadows or fake beauty marks)
  9. You can do this!
  10. Remember you are beautiful

Don't hop off the family party wagon just yet...

Hey guys! Kathy here. Is it me, or are family parties always so..idk BORING?! Especially when you come from a Hispanic family like I do. These days they find any excuse to throw a party. "Oh ya'll broke up? passed your road test? got a dog? gather the family, because we are throwing a party!" Now don't get me wrong, I love my family and I love celebrating but when you're the only "young adult" surrounded around your parents, uncles, aunts, etc., it can become quite a drag. Now, all my cousins and friends are currently away at college and I seem to be the only one coming home every weekend. Loser right?! Anyways, that being said I figured I would share with you guys some tips on how to keep yourself entertained during those dreadful family events. *yawns*

1. Have a drink. That is if you are 21+ ofcourse! which reminds me, check this out guys!

As I walk into my aunt's house, I immediately get greeted with a hand stamp so that everyone around me remembers that I am 21 and can drink. Oh & my cup gets labeled...just in case the kiddies aren't sipping on the low. Now, this just has to be my family..seriously, who does this?! Weird..

2. Annoy Grandma.

Now what I like to do is constantly replace my grandma's alcoholic drink with water. Three times tops and she swears she's gone crazy. At least she won't be begging me to dance bachata with her by the end of the night..

3. Have another drink

4. And another...

5. Act like you're enjoying yourself

6. Pretend you forgot something in the car and never come back

7. Go for a jog

8. When your family members get drunk, ask them for gifts and money. Guarantee this works every time!

9. Release your pet rabbit from his cage

Cupcake had no problem hopping around like it was nobody's business. Boy did I get in trouble for that one..poor Grandma is all I have to say. So take precaution on this one guys

10. Smile awkwardly like a creep behind every photo

Next time you get invited to a family party, don't hop off the wagon just yet. Make a plan, be creative, and have fun!
