More than a Vacation...

“To travel is to take a journey into yourself”
- Danny Kaye

Not too long ago, Ariel and I were in a coffee shop talking about life and goals. We began talking about studying abroad in Europe which has been up in the air for three years. At the time it sounded like a good idea. We thought it through and realized that it would be best to travel abroad, just us. “Let’s backpack throughout Europe!” Ariel had suggested. Immediately, we were thrilled with the idea. The next step, was making it happen and as we are very driven people, committing to our new idea wasn’t an issue.

So why travel?

Many people ask us, why do you want to travel so badly? What is the reason? We always laugh at these questions. Who doesn’t want to travel? You’d be surprised! Now...we can’t speak for others, but these are some of our main reasons:
  • Have always wanted to travel the world since before we could remember
  • We want to get out of our comfort zone (i.e. NJ)
  • Opportunity to learn more about ourselves and life in general
  • Be able to travel on our own for the first time without our families

Why Europe?
  • Vibrant culture
  • Authentic dishes
  • Beautiful cities and scenery
  • Luxury of being able to travel country to country without the use of planes (country hop) in one trip
  • Want to see specifically the Eiffel Tower, La Sagrada de la familia, The louvre,The Vatican, Versailles, Acropolis, Big Ben, The Van Gogh museum
  • Pick up new languages
  • Learn about our heritage (our European background)

Why now?
  • We’re young, wild, and free
  • No commitments or obligations (no kids, no hubbies, no careers)
  • The future is not promised (It’s never a good idea to put anything off because…
1. You may not get the opportunity later
or…
2. There may not be a later
  • Take advantage of opportunities!

With that being said, follow your dreams! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Prove those bitches wrong. xo
